The research started with defining the problem that the potential product would target. UN sustainability goals helped us decide the specific area that our project would cover.

Fourth goal: quality education was chosen first; brainstorming started to identify the kind of problem we are dealing with within this topic. Research into related articles was done to find information on the accessibility of education in less developed countries. The team decided to narrow the target group down and began to research the traveling community in Ireland. The same problem was researched with the addition of specific ways of delivering education to children within the traveling community.

While researching strategies, the team discovered an interesting conundrum pertaining to whether it is more effective to study alone or in a group. Research articles suggest that it is better to study in groups, and social life plays a vital role in the quality of the educational experience. Another goal, "sustainable communities", was chosen to relate the project to the problem under that topic.
